I’m a writer and artist based in London, having grown up in Fife, Scotland. I’ve published several books in the past, including Shooting Hipsters (Repeater Books, 2016), The Portrayal and Punishment of Terrorists in Western Media: Playing the Villain (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and The Fear (Repeater Books, 2023). I have also written for The New Statesman, The Irish Times, Glamour, Stylist, Literary Hub, The London Magazine, Prospect and other publications. I wrote my PhD thesis on visual portrayals of terrorists and other political villains in media and fine art, before turning to art practice and creative non-fiction on related subjects.
